The "Before"

It was spring, so this photo was taken from the angle that highlights the deck and beautiful back yard. Just to the left is the cabana and pool. Can't wait for summer!

The kitchen is not finished. The 8-track player and 45rpm record player (part of the intercom system) are still intact, if you are in need--hey, I wonder about the Smithsonian. Gary wants to keep them :-) Our real delay is another good set of arms to haul tile around while I install the kitchen, utility room, and Matt's bathroom floor. Those aren't large areas, but my back is aging faster than the rest of me.

We spent this weekend trimming trees and installing plantation blinds. Spring is springing and the back yard is calling me and I just can't wait!

Once we get this house done, it will be wonderful. We may be too old to appreciate it, but it will be wonderful. Julie wants comments. Gary isn't paying her enough to make this worth her while.

Ice Storm January 24-25, 2009

We were out of school for two days and that NEVER happens in Oklahoma.  This is the view from our kitchen window out onto the deck.  No snow, just ice.  The outer building you see is the cabana.  You can see a bit of the pool, but it looks like an ice rink.  I can't get anyone to try it :-). Imagine the fun we are having cooped up in the house with Gary in his full-arm cast.  Wahoo...
